Energy was high and the stage was set for a multitude of stars and star attractions as influencers from the worlds of design, music, fashion, art, philanthropy, entertainment, sports and business gathered to celebrate the unveiling of RH Nashville last night! RH Nashville is the first gallery in the South to feature RH’s seamlessly integrated culinary experience in partnership with celebrated restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff. Last night’s event benefited The Frist Art Museum.
Guests enjoyed fresh bellinis by Cipriani NYC, a frosé garden on the rooftop, curated wines by Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley, and a mojito bar, along with a DJ performance by Chris Malinchak of New York. The experience includes a courtyard café offering a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu set within a soaring glass and steel atrium complete with elegant lounge seating, glimmering chandeliers, trickling fountains and heritage olive trees. With a curated selection of artisanal wine and beer, dramatic wine vaults flank the café, and the adjacent barista bar will serve craft espresso and house-made pastries. (And if the gourmet bites by RH Café were any indication of things to come, the Truffle Grilled Cheese will become our new obsession . . . or maybe the sliders? Or maybe . . . ?)
A few notables to note from last night’s event: RH Chairman and CEO Gary Friedman, Nashville Mayor David Briley, Naomi Watts, Portia de Rossi, Karen Elson, Jake Owen, Bella Hunter and Trey Lipman. Also spotted in the crowd: Chris Hope, Nathan Followill and Matthew Followill of Kings of Leon, Jessie Baylin, ChloeWen, Mallory Ervin, and Rachel Li, among many others (see slideshow, below).
We caught up briefly with Portia de Rossi, whose art-publishing company General Public has partnered with RH Gallery to make great art accessible to everyone; this was her first trip to Music City. “This is so exciting,” she said. “And Nashville is gorgeous! The people are wonderful, and I’m really looking forward to spending more time here.”
Blurring the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality, RH Nashville will serve as a dramatic canvas for one of the most comprehensive collections of luxury home furnishings in the world. Adjacent to the Green Hills Mall, the gallery will span over 70,000 interior and exterior square feet across four levels. Visitors will enjoy artistic lifestyle installations featuring RH Interiors, RH Modern, RH Baby & Child, RH TEEN and RH Outdoor collections from internationally renowned designers; as well as the RH Design Atelier, offering professional design services in a studio environment.
A grand-scale contemporary, yet classically derived structure, RH Nashville was conceptualized by Friedman and design architect James Gillam of Backen, Gillam & Kroeger, a firm recognized as one of Architectural Digest’s Top 100 architect and design firms in the world.
Congratulations to all involved—spectacular event, spectacular space and it’s right here, West of The Cumberland!
